Ninety-six word searches in big, clear 18-point letters, one puzzle to a page with plenty of white space around it. Each has twelve words on an 11 by 11 grid, and every word reads forward: left to right, top to bottom or on a diagonal. Nothing hides backwards. The answers are at the back, in puzzle order, with the found words in bold. The themes in Volume One run from songbirds and soup pots to rivers of the world. The cover is cobalt blue under a bright yellow field, and a plastic coil along the left edge lets the book open flat and stay that way, on a lap, a tray table or the kitchen counter. 6 by 9 inches, 150 pages, spiral bound. It’s one of four volumes, and each has its own themes and words, so nothing repeats.
